Our bike trip to the Couer D'Alenes!!

Ellen, the trails are beyond awesome. It is what cycling should be, to get out and have fun and see some of the gorgeous beauty that is out there.

I am soooooooooooooooo envious. That is one spectacular vacation.

Looks like a fun trip. DH and I want to do some exploring out your way sometime, so that may be a good trip for us to do when we come out your way. There is just so much to do..

So, this trail is 72 miles out, and 72 miles back? Is there enough service along the way that a person could attempt to do it both ways in one day for a 144 mile, one-day ride? Is it pretty flat?

Yep...27 miles each way. Very flat. Here's a link to the elevation. There's no more than a 2% grade at each end.

A lot of folks here start at Plummer, ID which is the lower end of the trail and ride to Kellogg, Wallace or Sliver Mountain, spend the night and ride back the next day. The really hardcore riders, leave from Spokane and ride down to Plummer. It makes a great weekend ride. bikerHen

You would love it, Darcy. Nothing but trail! No cars...and hardly any other cyclists. But then again, we were there mid-week.
