Running Son does his FIRST TRI!!!

Well, really it was just a practice for the race on Saturday, but they did the complete course.
It was kids sized... 75 meter swim, 2.5 mile bike, .8 mi run

He did great, but apparently he got stomach cramps on the bike, so he had trouble running... hmm.... Takes after MOM in that department I suppose!

But the most important thing is that he LOVED it, and he can't wait to race on Saturday.
It is a shocking turn of events in the Amos household, as he has always been adamant that he did NOT want to EVER do a triathlon. Go figure?!
Must be the fact that he has friends racing, and it's the talk of the school....
"Are YOU doing the triathlon?? So and so is doing it. It's going to be hard" etc.. It seems all the cool kids are doing it.

    Hey, that's great!

Sounds like peer pressure worked in a positive way this time!

AAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!! That's so cute. Congratulations Denise on bringing another triathlete into the world.

I bet when you're not listening he's saying things like "Duh, of course I'm doing the Triathlon on Saturday, my Mom's done Ironman you know!!"
Living life like there's no tomorrow.

It's fantastic that he wants to do this. I believe in leading by example, but I can't even get my son to run 15 minutes to keep in shape for hockey and lacrosse. He sees running as pointless! I wasted good money on running shoes that he used twice...sigh...
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

That is awesome. Congratulations are in order to your son AND to you. What a role model you have been in his life.
Unity is strength. Knowledge is power. Attitude is everything.
