Wow... What fortitude on all of you to do the full century. My back was still bugging me so I opted for the metric. Did the upper half and decided to dump the ride just past the second rest stop. Instead of turning left at petaluma-tomales road, I turned right and limped back to the high school while nursing my poor back. One thing I wasn't expecting was the STRONG WIND!!! I wish I had another rider or two to share with blocking the wind...

Well supported ride, air was so clean and pristine (unlike LA), the moo-cows were a sight. I was worried about lack of shoulder on many of the road and seeing how the local farm boys raced down the road, it bugged me alot; but, it wasn't bad at all. None of them buzzed me. On Petaluma-tomales road, there were tons of black berries. Soo tempted to stop and munch out but decided against it.

If it weren't for the wind and my poor back, it would have been one great ride. Maybe next year.

I did drive into Petaluma for the get together but I didn't get the address right 4th and petaluma dr south?? the two streets ran in parallel. So I headed back to Pointe Reyes before the restaurant closed for the night. Better luck next time.

Oh after the ride lunch, I had their vegetarian cheese ziti with local blue cheese yummo!! Decided to buy the T-shirt afterall and left a suggestion: See if they can get a local massage school there with the massuse students to practice on the sore cyclists.

Maybe next time to meet some of you in person,

Oh geeze, we were worried about what became of you, because if you turned up at the pizza parlor, we wouldn't have been there!

Turns out, the New Yorker had limited seating and it was very crowded already, so since Lee & I were the first to arrive I dashed to a restaurant a few doors down to see if they could give us a table for 8 or so. Luckily it was before their evening rush so they were able to seat us all, and I was able to leave voicemail messages and/or wave people over as they arrived. But I didn't have a cell number for you and we had no idea what you looked like. (Note to self: get everyone's cell phone numbers beforehand).

Well, I'm glad it all turned out OK for you, but I'm darned sorry that we missed you and that you went so far out of your way

Heh heh, we completely missed the lunch - we finished at dinner time. But we made up for missed calories with yummy yet eclectic dinner choices (some opting for the breakfast menu) at the Lyon's in Petaluma. But we all had milkshakes, that all-important recovery beverage (oops I hope TrekHawk isn't too jealous)
