    Single Speed-y Goodness!

I've been wanting a singlespeed for awhile, so when an opportunity came up to trade my hybrid for a bike of the same age (in my size!) with a fixed/free flip-flop hub on the back, I just couldn't resist.

So far this morning I've stripped the decals, cleaned and lubed the chain, polished up that shiny chrome-y paint, flipped the stem, adjusted the brakes, changed out the saddle for the Brooks B17 that had been on the hybrid, took pictures...oh, and went for a ride. I love it!

A few pics of my shiny new piece of pretty...

Yep, this is the one that was on Craigslist. It turns out that the girl who had it was looking for a Bianchi hybrid right as I was considering selling mine...so it worked out perfectly. I'm way thrilled.

It's a Giant. I think the model is the Bowery.

And it's still awesome...even the morning after. LOL.

Oooh, sweetie, we were both wrong!

Dang, I guess I'm not enough of a bike snob...

Dex, that is a gorgeous looking bike. Be sure to put her picture in the Brooks and Bikes thread, eh?

BTW: your avatar pic is a great pic of you! Are you doing the metric tomorrow?

How did I forget about the Brooks and Bikes thread? Off to remedy that now...

Thanks! I quit my job, so I get to have pink hair again. w00t!

Unfortunately, my cut-off point for mileage right now seems to be just under 50. Once I get much past that, my knee starts getting aggravated again. So, no metric for me.
