    Utah mine collapse

    To disable ads, please log-in.

It is nearly midnight here in Utah and so far I know three men have died and six have been injured trying to rescue six men trapped in a coal mine. DH grew up in little, close-knit Huntington (the town where the miners live) where the incident command center is adjacent to my in-laws' home. My father in-law used to be a mine safety engineer and DH's grandpa used to own a mine and be a coal miner (even survived a mine collapse). DH does not know any of the trapped miners and the identities of the rescuers is unknown. Still it hits close to home.

Please remember these miners, their families and this community in your thoughts and prayers. There are a lot of hurting families right now.

I thought about you ladies in Utah the other day when I heard about this event.

My thoughts go out to the families affected by the collapse.

I can't imagine what the families are experiencing...I know that when I don't know the outcome on something (even unimportant things), that it eats me up inside...

My fondest and most hopeful thoughts go out to them. A tragedy indeed.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.
