I went to my club's first run practice Tue, 15min warmup (all of them chatting like they were having coffee and myself with 160 HR), some exercises barefoot on a soccer field, then 3 intervals. The last one at 3:20 minutes per km, I held that for 1 min. Hee hee.Top Marathoners run sub 3min/km for >2 hours, this is ridiculous....
And I ran the tri yesterday and am very sore.

No running for me lately, but I've been dying to! My ankle is still a bit off, but I am going to try some shorter runs next week, plus I need to do 10 more miles by the end of August to meet my 100-mile goal. I would have been done 2 weeks ago if it hadn't been for my dang ankle... its so frustrating not to be able to do anything!
I just did two treadmill runs as it was WAY too hot (101 to 104 for highs) to run outdoors. 2.75 and 3 miles (plus .5 miles walking each time) of slow running. I didn't figure those runs were worthy of starting the weekly thread, but I enjoyed them!

OH! I've been running... biking... swimming!![]()
I have just been too tired to post! As it gets closer to my Half Ironman... my training time each week is going UP. I'm still 7 weeks out from my taper... and each week I:
Swim around 7,000 meters (well, I haven't done a good job of reaching this goal).
Bike around 120 miles.
Run around 20 miles.
Totaling around 13 hours a week.
SO... this past weekend I ran 12 miles... my longest run to date! It was a bit slow around a 12:30 minute mile, but with the HEAT and HUMIDITY I was doing a 5:00 run/1:00 walk combo, for the most part. It took me a good 2 hours and 30 minutes!
I just hope I can hang on and keep up this volume for the next 7 weeks. I can't believe my training distances only go up from here!![]()
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside thoroughly used-up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!"
Great job on the 12 miles KSH!
I ran Saturday for the first time since my tri on July 15 (slaps own wrist). I was all nervous, like I'd somehow forgotten how to run. I (half) jokingly told DH I was afraid the other runners would laugh at me because I didn't know how to run. It was all good, I felt great, HR was good, knees felt fine, a little warm, but that's my fault for sleeping too late.
I've decided I want to run in the Halloween 5k at the end of Oct. I ran it last year, it was my first 5k. I'll be 26 weeks (6 months) then, but I think its very doable. I really feel like I need an event to look forward to, to keep me from slacking off.
The best part about going up hills is riding back down!
Did a measely 2 miles at 5 AM before work. I was sleepy.
