Well, we can't have you feeling ignored when you made such a special purchase and especially when you posted with such enthusiasm ! Congratulations. No need for pictures here - I also have a Ruby and know exactly what you have. I also remember the feeling of riding on my well-fitted new carbon bike. You do feel like you can fly with alot more comfort. I also had a heavier steel sort of ill-fitted bike that seemed more of a struggle. Many happy trails to you, and it sounds like you're gearing up already and raring to put in those miles.

I would love to see your Italy photos. I think you should just post a few and we all can see them.

Feel free to ignore as usual

Just like a newspaper, use the headline to grab attention. If you want feedback, say so in the headline. More people are apt to read and respond to that.

    Here's a thought

Why don't you put your fundraising website as part of your signature? I don't always read all threads, but I do tend to click on a link if it's a signature from an established member.

Thanks so much for all the nice replies. Sorry for being such a whiney-butt . . .

I haven't been able to post my photos here as they are too large (too high of resolution, I guess). I'm pretty much technologically ignorant, so if you could give me some "Advice for Dummies"-style advice on how to get the photos on here I'd love to hear it!

Thanks again. And, uforgot, here's my new signature:

Congrats on the new bike! Fun, isn't it!

For me I think it was the title, I only read maybe 10% of the posts, and anything with a placename in it (i.e. a post dealing with someplace a million miles from here) I automatically skip.

Okay, so I read through the thread and learned a lot about grammar!

    Also read this,

    ** What Is Copyright Infringement?
"Creative works" such as text, photos, and drawings are automatically protected by Copyright at the time of their creation. Unless the author/photographer/artist explicitly grants permission to reproduce the work, you most likely do not have the right to cut-n-paste the work into the forums.

    *** What is Direct/Hot-Linking?
Direct Linking occurs when you "pull" a photo directly from a different website for embedded display in your post. If you do this without permission from the site on which the photo is hosted, you are in effect stealing bandwidth from them.

However, if you are hosting your photos on a photo sharing site, that site probably allows you to hot-link your own photos. Check your host's Terms Of Use Agreement if you are unsure.

So, does that mean it was wrong of me to post the links to Specialized and such to show what my bike and accessories look like?

I do have my Italy photos on www.kodakgallery.com, but just don't feel comfie giving the whole world permission to see them. So far, I am just sending invites to people who request to see them, or to people I know (like friends and relative), but they have to put in a login and password to view. Probably just me being paranoid, but ya never know!

I would love to post a photo of me with my bike, or me and DH in our bike getups in Italy, but as I said the resolution of my photos are too high so I can't post them here! If someone could walk me through how to manipulate the resolution so they fit (there is a resolution size limit 800 x 800 here on the TE forums, and mine are more like 2800 x 2100), please let me know!

Thanks for the tips, and also for the continued well-wishes.

    photo sizer

there's a program called Irfanview which is real easy to use for resizing pics. Go to www.irfanview.com and download it. Oh yeah, it's free. And it's very simple to use.

I wanna see your pictures too!

I second the suggestion to use irfanview. Fantastic free program!

It's very straight forward, but if you'd like more info, PM me.

Oi, stop being a whiney-butt..................... hehehe!

Only kidding, I fully understand, I go on a couple of other forums and have a habit of killing a thread, or my post gets ignored............probably 'cos mine are a load of crap!

Anyway, if you have a Paypal account, I would love to donate $10 towards your run against pancreatic cancer, so PM if you have.

PS Using www.photobucket.com is real easy to put pics on here, if you want anymore info, just PM me.

    Hi Michelle

All sorted, donated $10 for a very good cause and I didn't need to use Paypal

    Good luck with the training.
