Just a thought - do you know about the Cannon Express ride at Gonzales?

It might be a way for you to get to do a ride in the general (sort of) area as well as go to the camp.
We are planning to this one, and maybe the Goliad one too. (thanks for posting about the Goliad ride -- that's how we found out about it
)

do the camp...
I would jump at the chance to attend an event such as this. It sounds like the tour ride is an re-occuring event. Who knows you may meet riders at the camp from your area and you make friends who are also riding/training partners.
