I DID IT!! I finally settled on a new road bike and I loooove it.
For a month (longer?) I visited many bike shops, did countless hours of research online, did a zillion "parking lot test rides," and basically drove my friends and family crazy searching for *her.*
I was uber-close to purchasing an '07 Specialized Ruby Comp, when lo and behold - I got on a boy's bike and fell in love. That's right... from the moment I got on the Scott CR1, that was it. It was the first time I've ever gotten on a bike and it immediately felt like an extension of my body. Hooray!!!
My girlfriend ended up getting the Ruby, and is just as in love with it as I am with my Scott - it just goes to show you - you have to get the bike that fits you.![]()
Anywho... training for the El Tour de Tucson currently. I don't think it will be a problem, considering it's hard to get me off my bike right now!
Go ride!

Congratulations on your new bike.

How exciting! Which CR1 did you get... the Pro? the Team? the SL? My DH has the SL and he LOVES it.
Congrats! I hope I love my next bike as much as you do!
Okay, FINALLY - I got some pictures. She's an '06 that was still hanging around and she's a Team issue. Here she is in all her glory:
Verrry nice! Now I have bike envy!![]()

Gorgeous! Love the fade from blue to carbon. You really ARE fortunate to have found *your* bike with relatively little fuss. Enjoy her!

What a beautiful new ride!
Good luck with training for that ride.
