Many thanks to Kim for putting up with my sluggitude & my whining

Now that I've slept on it, I'm pretty happy with what I did and maybe ... maybe ... I might still shoot for the Solvang double.

It was nice to have someone else take over the role of Chief Whiner for the day, but just remember it is normally my job. Your job is superhero in training, and I have no doubt you will achieve superhero status in October.

Except for the traffic - which I guess wouldn't have been such a problem if I hadn't wanted to start late (mea culpa) - I really enjoyed the ride. I was really worried about both the distance and the elevation gain, and whenever the road tilted up almost immediately went to my 30x27, a gear I normally save until I'm really suffering. But survival mode worked, and I didn't have to join the whine chorus until near the end.

Personally I think Kim needs to ride more with me and then she would know what a good whine sounds like.
