-Here's a totally off the wall question for you. I'm reminded of it because you said 'second hand bike stall'.
On the old TV show Eastenders, Kat and her sisters (I think) had a stall where they sold clothing. There were a lot of various stalls.
So what I want to know is, is this a common thing in England? Could you expect to find an area like this in most towns?

Yes. Most towns have a market - some indoor and some outdoor.
The market where I got my Raleigh is an indoor one, only about 3 miles from where I live. I think my neighbour and I will be going up there this Sunday. We'll walk up and cycle back as I'm sure we'll find a suitable bargain bike for her there.There are a lot of unwanted, unloved bikes out there - go on give a bike a good home
