    Tucson Women

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I have ordered my very first road bike and am taking it pretty serious. I am intereted in either joining a riding club or joining a group that rides regularly. I obviously will be starting with smaller rides, but really want to meet other women in the area (I haven't lived here long).

I've printed off maps and routes from GABA, but they would obviously be funner with others. If anyone is interested in riding with a newbie (and probably teaching me a thing or two), please let me know.

I'm planning on riding in the Tour de Tucson (pretty sure I'm doing the 37 mile loop), so if anyone is doing that and wants to ride with someone, let me know that too.

    Thanks.

Oh, how I wish you lived in the Phoenix area! I need a riding buddy. :-)

As far as groups to ride with in Tucson... I've heard good comments about Desert Foxes (women's group) and Saguaro Velo. If you go to azcycling.com and click on "clubs" you will find a whole list of clubs in the state. Good Luck & Happy Riding!

Thanks for telling me about that website. I've contacted the Desert Foxes. It sounds right up my alley.

Let me know if you head down here and want to ride with someone. I have an aunt in Chandler and go up there pretty frequently. If you'd like to ride while I'm up there, let me know.

Thanks again for the help. I'll let you know how it works out!!!

I'm just getting into road riding as well, so if you're looking for a riding buddy, perhaps we can give it a try! I usually ride on the eastside...

I am moving to the east side, so I'd love to get riding in that area. I'm going for my first real ride tomorrow morning (not riding around my neighborhood). I'm not sure where yet, a friend and I are still trying to work that out.

Let me know if you want to go for a ride sometime. I'm definitely wanting to get out there more. I need to get some practice. I'll probably mostly ride on the weekends. And I like to go before it gets too hot. Or if there's an evening you want to get together, let me know what works for you.

    Talk to you soon.

    Kristi,

I tried to send you my e-mail and phone number via private message, but you have this disabled. If you're interested in riding, perhaps we can exchange contact info...

    Kristi...
just a heads up as you plan your TDT...all the rides end downtown. So the 109 is a loop but the others, you need to have a ride back to your staring point (there's shuttle service for some, maybe all events,I'm not sure). It's a great ride!
