I have the Bridgestone, if you want to see it again.....

just kidding. R'dog I just dropped by the shop and saw this:

S/he's fresh back from the dent and ding shop. The frame's been patched with brass.

Now when s/he's stripped to be repainted the tubes are completely smooth, like buttah.

The top tube and behind the bottom bracket where you see metal are where the paint's been stripped so that a patch job could be done.

Chris, Tim and I all re-cast our votes for original color.

S/he's gong to be a beaut. Have you named her yet?

I'm just giddy that I took the picture with my cell and got it to TE

R'dog, it's your decision but according to Chris at this point the difference in price between
    powdercoat, no logos and....
paint, match the logos as much as possible to the original....is only about $60.00.

    I vote "go for it".

He also showed me the new Surly Long haul Trucker. It's on my "when I win the Lotto" list. I justified not getting one because it was such a puke'y green....then they changed to slate/blue, nice!

And now .... it's deep red. Where'd I plant that money tree?

I f it were me I would leave it just the way it is, scratches in the paint and different colored areas and all. I love the "distressed" look and I love having the ORIGINAL decals on there, etc.
But....I know you are going to repaint it anyway. So if it's got to be stripped, then I vote to try to make it all look like it was when brand new- the original orange and decal styles.

    THANKS TREK!

Thanks for checking in on the bike and for the pict!

Already told Chris to go ahead and do the paint job vs the powder coat.

I've sorta been eyeing the soma smoothie es.. have you seen their new lug version of their bikes? they call 'em delancey's

right now i'm waiting for the decal guy to firm up his proofs, get 'em printed and then send them along to Chris.

Hey, R'dog. Chris Robinson's done painting my bike (well, technically he doesn't paint it, someone else does) now it's your turn.

I hear it's being decided which way the decals go? Up, down, sideways
