Actually ... not family or school. When I was growing up, my parents worked with a non-profit organization trying to make the world a better place--kind of peace corps meets missionary meets commune.
(an inaccurate but appropriately odd description). The reunion is with old friends whose parents did the same work. We all grew up together and are kind of like extended family in a quirky way.
I know, TMI. But you asked.
