I got a Gel-Bot, and I officially love it! I used it for the first time yesterday on an 80-miler, and it worked exactly as it is claimed to work. Easy to fill, easy to use. Easy to get the gel out of, easy to drink out of.

My only complaint is that it only holds about 1.5 gels. Still, for those times when you don't have to fumble with anything to get to that gel, it was really great. And, it is easy to fill, so I refilled it 1/2 way through the ride.

I really liked how easy it made to take 1 mouthful of gel at a time without having to reach into a jersey and then leave an open gel back in the pocket, or bento box, or whatever. Really handy.

    This product works!!

    Thanks

I have decided to try one. I found a bike shop that is only a short 20 mile ride from my house that sells them so, next time out I will stop in. I can't stand the foil packs.
If I can't go fast, at least I look good.

    Poor (wo)man's Gel Bot

Why not just mix the gel into the water? I carry one water bottle with a blend of Endurox and gel. Tastes weird, but boosts you up the hills!

I suppose that would work, too!

I have a growing addiction to CarbBoom gels in the orange/vanilla flavor, and I have to admit the full flavor treat of the straight gel is a little treat on the bike that I look forward to as an enticement to finish out my miles! Morale, you know!

Our LBS finally got the Gel Bots in. Since it's so hot here, I usually freeze the water bottles and head out. I've not tried it with the Gel Bot because I don't know how Carb Boom freezes. Anyone know?

My first blunder with the Gel Bot happened when I didn't secure the lid to the gel thingie and when I pulled the lid from the bottle, the gel thingy slipped down to the bottom of the bottle. Then the Carb-Boom dissolved into the water.

Today I took it and used the chocolate cherry flavored Carb Boom and it worked fine. I need to remember to bring extra gels though. I wonder if the manufacturer will eventually offer larger size gel thingies so that you can actually put 2 gels in the bottle?
