I also have the same car, in blue.

Actually, I have a 2005 Impreza RS. Not too many of those running around. So I should say I have a *similar* car. My Subie-dudes like her.

(my very first car was a 1969 Saab 9-6, with the grille the newer Subies' grille was modelled after. So I feel real special...)

Have you found the Ultimate Subaru Message Board? I was a member for years.

Congraulations! Looks nice. And the bike fits in the back? What mileage does it get? We're looking to downsize soon. Our VW Eurovan is getting old and overly thirsty. We'd still like something 4WD for wintry roads. Maybe we should take a test drive in one like yours ...
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

Duck - mine is older than Ash's, and I get 28-32 mpg. When it was brand new I got 36 mpg. (that was pretty exciting!)

My bike fits in the back if I take the front wheel off. I have a Thule rack for times I need to carry more than one bike.

Very nice. Nothing like the feel of a new car I like the color of it a lot.

This is my second Subaru and I will most likely get another (let's hope it is a while from now though!!) I would agree, it is about 26-30mpg. My last subaru was an 03 RS Sedan (same thing as this just a little older and obviously not a wagon) but it annoyed me that the seats didn't fold down so you couldnt get a bike in it.

Subarus make great cars and the forester and outback models (mine is an Impreza) are actually rated as some of the most eco-friendly cars out there. Some of them I believe have lower emissions than the hybrids out there (?). They also have a zero landfill facility and a wildlife refuge onsite. I am part of nasioc.com (North American Subaru Impreza owners club) and it is a great supportive group of people.

Have you seen Subie Sport magazine? I used to subscribe, but it wandered off into more the tuner zone so I didn't renew.

I have a soft spot for old-school subies. Loved my 1986 with the two stick shifts... sigh.

But as it (and my 1996) got older, I just couldn't keep up with the repairs. I don't do my own. bummer.

    Love my Imp, though!
