Did my usual early morning ride. Not a whole lot to report on. We did have the marine layer this am (good; not as hot in the PM Bad: clouds obscure Sun in AM)

It was a might-as-well-didn't ride today. Only 5 miles, and slow as molasses. One of those days with no energy, you know?
Now my back wheel is in the shop getting rebuilt & I probably won't ride again until RAGBRAI.
This is probably not the best planning on my part...![]()

Amen. I got a late start on my commute and a few blocks from home I had a near-flat on the rear tire. This is after a flat on the front yesterday. I rode most of the way back home till it was completely flat, then walked the rest of the way. I ended up being about an hour late to work.
The trip home was humid but not as hot as the last couple of days. Pretty miserable weather-wise, but it still beats my commuting alternatives.
Another no-ride here, too. I'm out of town for work, and after trying to turn my schedule inside out to make it work to bring my bike, I just decided to keep life simple and forget it.
At least I dropped my bike off in the shop yesterday...it is getting a new cassette and chain, so Fred will be all ready for me when I get back on Saturday, and then onward toward the Shasta ride with new cassette and chain.

No ride here either - had to work late. But it was worth it since I got to have lunch with a dear, old friend I see only about once a year since she lives in San Fran. I took a lonnnnng lunch and worked late to make up for it. Well worth it. There will be many more days to ride than to catch up with a dear friend!![]()

I was slow and felt out of shape! UGH!
First time in over a week on the bike. I have been running, and weight training, but I haven't been in a place where I could ride.
OY! Did I suffer. I feel my bike fitness slipping away! I'm suppose to run 8 miles in the morning and afterwards I plan to try to slip in another hour on the saddle. After that I have to go have my rogue ovary looked at again, and then off to the personal trainer before I board a plane BACK to Vegas for work. - Mind you I just got HOME from vegas yesterday.. Sigh...
But on the upside we are taking a trip to Moab to ride my new baby "Jules". Hopefully it's not too smoky. I'm a bit worried about that. UGH!
The weather looks perfect tho- sub 100 temps. We are getting into Monsoon here so it's hot, humid, and MISERABLE! blecch!![]()
But anyway, it was a good ride, if not slow. I had this fast little lizard sprint with me for a few minutes, and I saw a cool road runner. He stopped to check me out. He was a big fella- lot's of rattlesnakes in his neck of the woods I suppose. YIPES!
I rode twice today. First, I took my recumbent out for a spin (17.94 miles). I rode the TT course backwards - should have gone the correct direction for I would have had a lot of downhills to enjoy but instead I did a lot of climbing.
Second ride was a club ride I had never tried before. It proved to be very hilly but I felt strong albeit a bit tired while out on the route. This evening's ride seemed to help work off some the the "angry" energy I had built up this week, mood was a bit improved when I got back to the car.
Today's total ended up being 42 miles.
