I can do anytime except the weekend of July 28th (The Battle of North Valley's Hills ride)

F8th637 (and anyone/everyone else), are you interested in an approximately 25 mile ride from Leesburg to Purcellville and back sometime this month or early August? If it's not too crowded east of Leesburg, we could also tack on some more miles at that end, if we feel like it.

"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

Cool! I'm in Philly that same weekend, so any weekend before or after that one's good for me.

Awesome! I'm doing the Harlem Valley Rail Ride up in New York that weekend so we can definitely rule that weekend out. I can't do the weekend before but I'm free the weekend after.

I will probably bring a friend. She rides there a lot and knows all the parking areas.
She's the one holding her sign upside down![]()
Don't even ask about the nuns.

How does Sunday, 8/5 sound? Or do you ladies prefer Saturday? The trail gets very busy, so I'd suggest either early morning or mid- to late-afternoon.
Why not, don't nuns ride bikes? I think it'd be fun to have them along, though that would probably mean riding on Sunday would be out...Originally Posted by zencentury

Those nuns are sportin' Madonna cone bras.
Those aren't real sisters! I don't think they are even ladies, if you look closely.
True on the first but false on the second count.
I won't tell, though.
Eight o'clock? You're killin me here. but I can probably do it.

8:00am would be rough for me, too, but would certainly beat the crowds. I've also found that starting out around 3-4:00 in the afternoon is good. The ride can start out crowded, but ends up nice and quiet.
F8th, what works for you? Velobambina, interested in heading out that way to join us?

Alright, I put you ladies in the calendar. I'm with Kalidurga on this one about being coherent, conversational, and speedy that early. I prefer later but if you guys say 8 am I'll be there.

It's been so hot these past few days, 3 or 4 might be too warm.
