We're in Maine too, SE of where you are Mr S. We've had nothing but rain where we are. My niece and her BF rented a motorcycle. I think in 4 days they have ridden 70 miles.![]()

Yesterday you were miserable, but won't it be tomorrow's laughs??? I'm soooo jealous. But then, I'd rather be painting classrooms.Have a good time and make sure you take pics to post when you get back! I've never been to Maine, so I, for one, would love to see your vacation pictures!

So far no pictures - it's all been family stuff. Tomorrow we're going on a Puffin watch. Maybe we'll take some then - if the sun comes out.

Today's much better![]()
Did the same ride, just faster. We're really struggling with the Mtn Bikes, but I'm sure it's making us stronger.![]()
Veronica: I have to admit...I don't know what a Puffin is....are you on the coast?

Here is some Puffin info for you. Cute little things.

The puffins were really cool. It was hard to get a good picture of them. They look kind of funny when they fly. Their wings go really fast, but look out of proportion to their bodies.
We also saw porpoises, seals, comorants, terns and three different kinds of gulls.

We did Evans Notch today and did well. We'll post pictures when we return home. I wish it wasn't foggy atop...but alas, we completed our longest sustained climb!
8 Miles straight ascent, averaged 11.8 mph. 800 feet of climbing. The last two miles were a 10% grade. Combined wtih the fact that we have clunky rented mountain bikes, we're pleased!
