Question WANTED (to buy)......for my grandson

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    My last resort, trying TE.

I have tried in vain to buy an old or new Fall Guy pick up truck (1/64 ERTL #1602). Yes, the one driven by Colt Severs (Lee Majors) in the 80's.

Searched ebay, the internet and no luck.

There must be somebody with one chucked in a drawer............maybe.

Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained.

    Cheers for reading this anyway.

we used to have a little shop in town that sold comic books, action figures, games and stuff (just like the shop on the Simpsons, even down to the large, sarcastic proprietor/geek). I'm not sure if the shop is still there, but that sounds like the kind of thing they would have. I'll have to sniff around that part of town and see. It might be nice to have an excuse to go in there (I'm a little old and matronly for it now...)

    Hi Laura

Wow, I got a reply, thanks so much.

My small grandson frequently asks about 'old' cars and he knows generally I can obtain one somewhere, even if slightly battered, as is his Dukes of Hazard car.

'I'm a little old and matronly for it now'......No, never never never, the older you get the better excuse you have for doing daft things!

If, you were able to find one, that would be so good, do you have a Paypal account, then I could pay before you even bought it.

BTW...............your website is so good, sadly I am not arty farty but you have such a fantastic selection on your site.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Mimi

No, and I have missed not coming on here. You know how it is, real life gets in the way sometimes.

The website I was referring to was lauraelmore1033 who responded above. It is really cool, I think something for everybody in the way of art. Not only her own work, lots of others too.

Anyway Mimi, hope you are keeping well.

    link?

Yeah, I'm keeping well, except for a little sunburn suffered yesterday while riding outside all day in the sun (duh)

by the way I finally figured out that Orange is a brand of bikes!

Oh, I'm not arty farty either, really. My paintings are meant to be accessible to all, so all responses are valid in my book--even if it's, "eugh".
Well, I can't guarantee I'll find the truck, but I'll certainly look into it. I should also ask if you want the truck in "collectable" condition complete with packaging (which might be nigh on impossible to find) or would your grandson be happy with an unpackaged version. Are there possible alternative items of American t.v. culture he would like?

I don't think I'm on speaking terms with pay-pal anymore. I neglected to tell them I changed my e-mail address and that is apparently a fatal violation of their terms of use agreement. Perhaps we could exchange items? (I am a rabid fan of British t.v. myself and not above acquiring collectables) But that is a discussion to be had after I determine whether it is possible to find the truck at all.
    more on this later,
    Laura

    Mimi-

Click on lauraelmore1033's name, and it will give you an option to link to her homepage. Pretty cool stuff

Good luck finding the truck - I wouldn't know where to start looking around here, but I'll let you know if inspiration strikes

My grandson is only five years old, he would be happy with a truck with wobbly wheels, it really does not matter, so new or old.

At the moment it is only Fall Guy that he is fascinated by as they are showing the series again. He has been through The Dukes of Hazard and Night Rider............never ending but I love it, being a Gran.

No problem, if you are after anything in particular to do with British TV, just let me know, regardless of whether you find the little truck or not.

    Keeping me fingers crossed.

Hey, good to hear you are keeping well, ashame about the sunburn, chance would be a fine thing here in the UK at the mo to get sunburnt, just lots and lots of very wet rain!

No, no, no...........Orange is a brand of British built bikes.

My bike has to be around 8 or 9 years old. However, the return of the legend! Anyone who knows anything about Orange Mountain Bikes’ history will remember the bike that became an icon of the British mountain bike scene. AND they have just brought out a limited edition of only 200, with the same iconic Clockwork paint scheme.

If I had the money I still would not change my original Clockwork Orange.

Ooooops, I'm going off my own topic here.......

Sally, for years we've had a snap together model of that truck hanging around the house. Nay, decades, because it was definitely my eldest son's model (he's 24). It was never put together--still in the box. I can still see Lee Majors' mug staring back at me from the box.

I haven't seen it in a while, and during the last purge we may have finally gotten rid of it, but if I find it, it's yours. I'll even pay the shipping. I know it's not what you were looking for, but perhaps it would be an acceptable substitute.

    I'll let you know tomorrow.

    Hi Karen

Coolio...........and if you don't find it, I had fun thinking you might!

If you did, perhaps there might be something I could get your 14 year old son from over here?

Anyway, you gotta find it first..........

My son is 31 this year and I think he is excited about seeing another Fall Guy truck, he too use to have one many years ago.
