Triskeliongirl, I wish I had pursued that option a bit more earlier, but at this late date, it's too much to think about. I'll know better next time, and maybe I'll enjoy the hybrid for a few days.

amymisk: you may find it easier to find the smaller bike, maybe a bike was bought for a young teen and then outgrew it? As it turned out for us, Mr.'s size was easier to find (the smaller size of the two of us). He rides a 49cm Lemond. The shop has a road bike reserved for him. But they didn't have anything in the larger size that I need....a 58cm.


I found an extra helmet in the garage to use, so I didn't have to pack the Giro Pneumo. And we couldn't get the pedals or the saddle off the 1000, so we ended up taking them from Silverson's pilot. The pedals and saddle must have somehow melded together during the wreck.

OK, now I've got to finish up a couple more pieces of jewelry before I can go to bed.
