Some folks up here have formed a tri club, so I met up with them this morning. It was pretty funny because they all somehow "knew" me even though I had never met them?? They knew I did IM, and they all said that they saw me riding up there ALOT (umm yeah.. ), and then there is that You tube video... It just keeps coming back to "haunt" me... Denise is a freak... But thats a GOOD thing..
Anyway, it was a fun ride, but they were only doing 15, I needed more so I split off and rode until the sun was too much. I only ended up with 33 miles in two hours.
It was 116 here today, and even at 8:30 it was smokin hot. OY!

Very nice folks though, and I look forward to spending lots of time with them. They are also trying to get kids together to do a kids tri. Very cool, very cool indeed!

3 miles to Manhattan Beach Crit. I saw the race roster on Thursday. Made me more uneasy. I was still toying with the idea of doing the crit. When I got there, men's cat5 were well under way. Talked to LBS about the race and whether I should do it or not. One guy managed to get two week suspension. Another also managed to get two week suspension last week for racing in cat1/2 men though he is rated cat 4. ooops. He's young, aggressive and just wanted to see.

I see an ambulance go by

Cat 4 men takes off. And I still thinking about it. I see the peloton going by slowly behind a motocycle. They are being paced. few minutes later I see couple of guys with well new battle scars in making...

I decide against the ride. So I watch. fun race.

cat3 men were next then one minute later womens cat3/4 take off. At end of first lap, cat3/4 women had managed to spit out about half a dozen women out of the back. They got yanked. With cat3 men around, race organizers didn't want any straglers... I think I could've of kept up.

One gal was there mostly to collect the primes. managed to collect 3 out of 4. She wasn't there for the win. Some people. A set of Continental tires , bell helmet, cytomax and something else .

    rode home 3 miles.

I don't know what I was thinking... I went out for a training ride later in the day. around 12:30PM. It's hot outside. I must have been really cause, I decided to do some hill work. IT WAS HOTTTT!!! 1750 feet of climb, 25 miles ride, a bottle of water, a bottle of accelerade, a bottle of gatorade and chucked biscuit twice

took an ice cold shower and crashed on my sofa. Nice afternoon snooze with my kitties.

    Overall a good day.

DH and I did a 26.5 mile loop he figured out. Roads with names like Round Mountain and Nameless Road. Luckily, we got to go down Round Mountain, it was hilly! Nameless Road is also a slow, gradual climb the whole 5 miles we were on it. One low water crossing and rain Saturday means tonight I bike wash time. Argh, she was so clean Saturday morning. Oh and I forgot to sunscreen my arms, luckily we weren't out long but I am still red.
