I have learned so much reading this forum, and really enjoy the wonderful humor. But seriously, I have got to stop peeking at the forum 20 times a day to see who posted what, or I'm gonna get fired! I hate waiting until I get home at night to see what's going on at "The Forum". There must be a way to get a grip............![]()

If you are concerned, which sounds like you are but want to have your peeks, purhaps lunch or breaks. Set a goal, allow yourself set amounts per day at work say if you are used to checking it 20 times first start with 10 times and drop to 5 per day till your at 3 times before getting home. Once you get home go for a ride, come back and shower and relax while you surf the forum details. At work make a sticky with tally marks on monitor or on your sport drink bottle. I understand, some jobs in my past, I would have been pushing it to even doing it once a day. Be careful, don't risk your job. You may want to have money for bike things and oh house payment/rent, food....

This is my story too! I was getting very worried about my sneaking peeks at work. My desk is situated where everyone in the office walks by and sees what I have up on my screen all day long. I finally had to give myself a good talking to - work is work and the posts will wait until the evening! Waaah!!!Originally Posted by cyclingnewbie
Just get an anti-glare screen.....then they can't see it unless they're right over your shoulder......Originally Posted by nuthatch

Ok, ok. I do hereby resolve to resist and abstain from indulging my personal need to gab with the girls during working hours, so help me Biking Gods. (I hope this isn't like a diet, which usually only lasts a few hours.......)
If any of you read what was deleted, I deleted it cause I feel some may get the wrong impression that I was serious. Also, I hope that nobody will get fired that is for sure. I just know that I would not be able to stop at work to easily either...it is a very stress relieving forum...humor and support, so much to keep up with, but sure gonna try. I want to apologize if I made any of you feel badly at anytime. Ok, I am feeling hormonal right now...sorry
Call me crazy if ya wanna.

Don't worry, AutumnBreez! I, personally, grew up with three sisters and I work in an office of 20 women and five men - let the hormones fly!!! (those poor men!) I think we all know the true spirit of everything said here. This is the "women's room" after all! I'm only shocked by how much I enjoy visiting!![]()
Maybe we can get Admin to build in an "escape" switch. Make it look like a spreadsheet so if anyone walks by, hit a button and it looks like work!! wheeee
I'm lucky, my boss doesn't really care what I do as long as A) my work gets done and B) I LOOK busy! (hmmmm maybe that's why I chat so much here...all this typing makes me look busy!)
Autumn: I can't think of anything anyone can say here that would offend me. Since I can't see anyones face and my whole life is pretty much full of humour, I just take everyones comments in the vein they were offered in! But Holy PMS Cowboy Bob.....don't ya just Hate those hormonal times?? Ya either feel like a The Wicked Witch of the West, or Weepy Wanda, or Both!!!.....it's the whole salt no chocolate no salt no chocolate no salt etc etc thing that used to drive me nuts!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
Amen! Hormones are the ultimate good/ultimate evil. It's like riding the Tilt-A-Whirl!!! They say it's fairly decent on the other side of menopauseOriginally Posted by CorsairMac

I did it! I checked the forum when I got to work this morning, and didn't look again until I got home form work. Did I miss anything??? I almost looked after lunch, bur resisted. If only I could stick to a diet all day long!!![]()
I've caught up all the new postings and no one has posted anything in the last 5 mins....so I guess I need to get back to work!! waaaahaaaaa

Have you ever seen the movie "What about Bob?"Originally Posted by cyclingnewbie
Do you remember he was told to use 'Baby steps' ?
He kept reminding himself when ever he felt fear....lol
That was a hilarious movie. Loved it.
Maybe you could apply the same here... Baby steps...
Now I want to go rent it....
Make some carmel popcorn and watch movies tonight.
And yes...I said trial.
