Welcome to the C&O Appreciation Society, dingster! I've been pedaling the towpath for years and love it better than any road I've been on yet. The farther upstream you get (away from DC), the better! This is a great resource for cycling the C&O: BikeWashington.org: C&O Canal Bicycling Guide

If you, f8th637 &/or ZenC want to ride together on the towpath sometime, I'd love to join you. No camping for me, though. Too much work involved in that

"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."
David Desautels, in a letter to velonews.com

Random babblings and some stuff to look at.
