Leg warmers for use with knickers

I've worn light-weight tights over knickers on the way to work- then gone home in only the knickers.

yes, i wear knee socks a lot with my knickers.
But when DH was going DOWN from Washington pass back into the methow valley (think fast cold wet descent) he wore regular leg warmers right over HIS knickers. He really liked the combo
