    wow...

    Hi ladies,

I came across this forum while browsing the Internet for some random bike-related thing (I've spent so much time browsing here, I forgot what I was looking for!), and knew I needed to join.

I have only recently gotten back on a bike of any sort (before that I hadn't ridden a bike in over 15 years!), so I'm definitely very, very new to all of this. That, added to the fact that I don't really know any other women who ride, makes this forum truly a blessing. Now I have a resource for all those questions the BF can't answer!

I look forward to getting to know you!

    Please do. Is it TOS?
Btw, you seem too young to have had the priviledge of Star Trek on actual television in Real Time.

[thinks to self: "Oh no, not another one fallen through a hole in the fabric of the SpaceTime Continuum]

She's not old enough for TOS, but she is for all the others and the movies.

I'm 46 and I DO remember TOS in first run.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

I saw it in black and white - which was all there was in New Zealand in 1968. I'll never forget Capt Kirk calling for a yellow or a red alert which of course was a light or dark grey alert in black and white!

    Real name: Susan O.

Where do you live? Westminster, Maryland

Explanation of your handle: Nickname given to me by my teammates after I asked Joe's Bike Shop in Mt. Washington to make our racing team socks that say "Spank Me" on the sole. You can buy a pair if you want!

Explanation of your avatar: Haven't posted it yet - I can't figure out how to make the file uploadable.

    Age (general or specific): 41

    Occupation: Creativity and Innovation Coach

Favorite bike: My bike AND the Cervelo with the big "e" on the frame - so pretty.

What's in your stable? Seven Alta with baby pink letters and handlebar tape

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? Approx 38mph. Downhill, unfortunately. Various times on various hills - normally I am a chicken descender, but when I'm really tired I don't care.

Another picture of yourself or your ride? I want to upload one, but I don't know how.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I used to work as a writer in adverstising - so I told a lot of big lies.

Most memorable moment on my bike: I want to share two: 1) At the Leornardtowne Crit in 2005, there was a break in the final lap - my teammate said, "Susan, you have to chase" and I did and because of that effort we closed the gap and my teamate finished 6th which was her best finish ever 2) Sprinting past an alligator on a very narrow path in Florida.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Any ride that ends with a Starbucks.

Yay!!! Another Seven rider!!!!! (I ride an Axiom, soon to ride an ID8!).

Welcome to TE and welcome to the D.C. TE group! Keep tabs on the Mid-Atlantic forum where we try to get together once a month or so for rides - sometimes on-road, sometimes off-road, sometimes casual, sometimes more spirited, and usually ending with lunch!
