My Specialized Allez Elite was converted from a triple to a double when I bought it. Since then my LBS has looked at it a few times but can't manage to get rid of the rub when I'm in smaller front ring and smalls in the back... I get incredible rub that no amount of shifting or partial shifting can get rid of, consistent through 4 or so gears. The guys don't seem concerned, but they cater to racers on Pinarellos who laugh at my Ultegras.

Tell me that the rub *can* be tuned away?
