The day after my Dad died I ran 2.5 hours straight. After not running at all for almost a month, and only once a week for a while before that. I don't know why I did it, I just did. I think that in the feeling of helplessness that comes at a time like this drives us to prove that we have control over something. Even if it's only how hard we can push ourselves.
Take care and be careful to not overtrain right now. It's an easy thing to do, to push yourself into that place of physical pain so the emotional pain isn't so acute. Hugs.
