My daughter and I really enjoyed Jodie Foster's "FlightPan" too...

We watched it together a few months ago (just before she moved out to try flatting...)

We watched Breach & Ghost rider this week. Breach- about espionage inside the FBI was good, well done. Ghost rider with Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes and the alway auditory-lucious Sam Elliot- was great. Of course it was silly,-a big special effects, comic book based movie, but it was fun & I like fluff and good guys versus bad guys stuff. Peter Fonda was really cool as the Devil. was a

I agree with the recomendation on "The Matador" an excellent movie .

And "Fifth Element" is not just Hub's husband's favorite movie, it's mine and all my friends as well. Know most scenes by heart. We used these passes to get into the parks for mountain biking and we call them "Multi-pass". Stupid movie but just can't stop watching!

Uncertain if anyone is into anime, but these are my favorite movies - all worth watching:

    Spirited Away
    Princess Mononoke
    Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigarde
    Howe's Moving Castle

and a new that just came out "Paprika". Awesome movie.

PS it's hard to provide a synopsis of an anime movie - they all involve nature, evil spirits a bleak future, children. If you want to try just one I suggest SPritied Away. Visually the most beautiful movie and it has all sorts of interesting characters.

    Thumbs down

We saw "Knocked Up" last weekend. Although there are a couple of funny lines - and I really like Catherine Heigel (sp) - can't recommend it 'cuz we just thought it was bad.

Got rained out of riding last night, so we went to see Shrek 3. I liked it, but it was definitely not the best of the Shrek movies.

Thanks for the review of Knocked Up. I heard it was funny so that's good to know.

Spiderman 3 wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

Flightplan was a great movie but....DH is an aircraft mechanic and I work for an airline. It was so difficult to watch things that we knew couldn't be true (like airline procedure and structural things with the plane) but we enjoyed it nonetheless!!!

So let's see, I am out of date with movies but:

The Queen - I thought it was great!
Clerks 2 - Silly but funny
Casino Royale - couldn't get into it but maybe we were tired
In the Company of Men - great but disturbing
Snakes on a Plane - um....good in a silly way
Venture Bros Season 2 - always good
Pink Flamingos - classic John Waters.

oh and we rewatched Welcome to the Dollhouse which is really good too.
