    used Cannondale 900si?

I have located a Cannondale 900si, here are details...

2002 Cannondale R900si for sale. In excellent condition with extremely low miles. Fully loaded with top of the line components: many upgrades

    Frame - CAAD5 Road
    Size - 54 cm
Rims, Hubs, Spokes - Mavic Cosmos
Derailleur and Shifter - Shimano Ultegra
Saddle - Upgraded to Specialized Toupe and Carbon post ($400 upgrade)
Color - Ice Fade, Team blue, Baby blue, Lightening, White
Aero Lite tri bars ($150 upgrade)

I'm wondering if this is a good price for a bike of this age... I haven't ridden it yet so I don't know if the fit is good. But I was professionally fit at a bike shop and was told a 54 mens would be the place to start. I have also been looking at the Cannondale Synapse.

Any opinions on one vs. the other? I have NO idea what to look for in terms of the bike being mechanically sound. The guy said he was having it tuned later this week.

ask him where he's having it tuned and go talk to the shop about the bike.

Thanks, Mimi. That is a good idea. On the used bike, I think I am going to be paying a lot for that seat and seat post which is probably more of a personal upgrade?

In my opinion you don't want to be paying for the saddle upgrade without knowing if that saddle will be comfortable for you.

What's the asking price for the bike?
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Oh geez, meant to post that. Sorry! It's $950 for the used Cannondale.

That seems a bit steep to me. I think you're definitely paying for his personal upgrades, there.

I just bought a new 2006 R800 for just over 1200... CAAD 8. Now, I'm not too up on the differences between the R800 and R900 over different model years, so I could be way off, but I thought I'd throw my bike out there for a reference point for you.

Thanks, Kan. That is helpful. I think the frame is too big for me, anyway.
