    Kimmy, in a short race transitions mean a lot and if you're racing with other inexperienced triathletes that's your best bet for really gaining some time on them.

    Someplace I posted my transtion practice routine on this forum, I'm going to try to find the link.

    Do the routine and if you're serious about beating your buddies, don't share it. Sounds mean but...

    The week before my race on 5/20, I spent one whole workout just practicing transition. Went out the lake, did the swim, got out, wiggle, wiggle, out of the wetsuit, set up my area, got on my bike, followed Wahine's suggestions, rode for 10 mins, got off ran. Did that two or three times. Did a world of good.

    Now this will make you laugh. After the first round, I tried to dry off and put my wetsuit back on. Hilarious....just picture that wiggle.
