I'm glad you have your "boy" back! That's a good brick if you haven't been running lately. If you do the 5 miler this week I bet the next brick (or the tri if you don't have time for another brick) will be much better. Do you have a time goal for the tri, or are you doing it just for fun? Sometimes life gets in the way of doing the things we'd rather be doing. But for me training time is "me" time, as in, it helps keep me sane and happy. Can you push some other things aside this week to focus on training more? Good luck juggling it all. Just remember, you are one person and can only accomplish the work of one person.
