It's not so bad- really it's a rush! My friend crashed off the side back in January and broke a couple ribs. I've had a close call or two...

We are just north of L.A.
The singletrack in the video is the Chumash trail. It's the one right in the middle of the map that runs east/ west. The fireroad at the beginning is Rocky Peak, which runs North/South. I posted a google earth picture once, let me see if I have it still. We ride a clockwise loop- about 10 miles. If anyone needs socal info, let me know, or check out this website for Ventura County.
