UPDATE! YAY!!! I got my pump back!! (and I ordered another one for my other bike!)

YAY!! Good for you for getting your pump back and not damaging life or limb in the process. I would have been tempted to do the same thing; of course, this is from the girl who Shoe Gooed a tire because she couldn't bear the thought of tossing a perfectly good tire with only a little cut.

And I couldn't ask the DOT to risk their lives for a pump either. I think I'd die of the humiliation of their laughter.

Aw, come on, SK! Heaven knows we laugh enough at Caltrans, so it's only fair that they get to laugh at us sometimes.
