Hi all,
I posted my photos of the bike trip to flickr....could you let me know if you can't access them?
And yes, I know that there are more photos of food than of bicycles.

Good stuff!
How many miles a day did you ride and how much weight did you gain?![]()

We were there for two weeks, only 5 of those were the bike trip (but we rented bikes for the day in Lucca). Daily mileage varied, and we got rained out for a day and a half. I think I rode only about 120 miles. I gained 4 pounds![]()
I'm jealous. I liked it better when the kids were younger and could fly to Europe on half fare!

Not too bad for all that beautiful food (mmmmmmm...GELATO...)

Well, I am somewhat museum-challenged, so most of what we did for our 7 days in Florence was walk, and I mean walking about 5 hours a day. So I probably was consuming about 5000 calories a day to have gained 4 pounds.
There was one day on the bike trip where we got rained out, so to entertain us they took us to a restaurant and served us a 6 course lunch at about 1 pm. Then at 7 pm, we had a 6 course dinner (and I think I may have managed to get hold of my daily gelato between lunch and dinner). I'm really amazed I didn't develop a serious stomach ailment...several of my tripmates were feeling quite queasy.
Another really, really good thing about this trip was that I got a business class ticket entirely with frequent flyer miles, which meant that I actually slept all the way there (when I wasn't drinking champagne). It will be hard for me to face flying coach again.
