Yes, I did hear you. That was actually pretty cool. I'm still working on my ride report. The working title is "F*ck, this sucks!" Elevation is not my friend. That's why I'm up at 2 AM drinking more water!

As we were driving home yesterday Thom (he was a SAG driver) was telling me that someone had crashed and his girlfriend had been pretty worried. I was hoping it wasn't George. Is he and his bike going to be all right for RAAM?

Thank you!!! I was so distracted after all of that happened that I didn't realize until the next morning that I'd gotten my Triple Crown...lol.

I think that's the perfect title Veronica. I was/am still so dehydrated, I just feel like every bit of moisture has been sucked out of my body. That last section from Benton really did me in. I would take a drink and my mouth and throat would be dry before I could re-cage the bottle. Ugh.

Yes, that was George. I was very worried, it's hard to ride another 120 miles once you have that in your head. He'll be okay, he didn't hurt nearly as much yesterday and he's icing it. The handlebars were sheared and there's a scratch on the headtube...this was his BRAND NEW Cervelo Soloist Carbon, by the way. The one he bought specifically for RAAM. He'll get it fixed this week. Check out the pictures, it could have been MUCH worse. He hit a snow stake and luckily the handlebars took the impact.

Oh, and to think, I'm planning on doing a double at the end of October with about the same amount of climbing ...

You'll do great! That amount of climbing on a double century, in my opinion, is not too horrible. Now the winds...they're another story.

Jo, Solvang will be easier. Central Coast and Tam were both easier than ES. You'll be fine.

Brandy did George really fall asleep while climbing?

It was the elevation and lack of humidity. The humidity was only in the teens most of the day. I think I would have liked to get rained on. It just sucked me dry, literally.

I've been drinking and eating like crazy and I'm still down two pounds since Friday morning.

Well, I'm relieved he sounds like he'll be okay. I'll look at the pics when I get home. Stupid blocking software at work...

I SO wish I could have taken today off!

He was just done descending Mammoth Scenic Loop, about 1/4 mile from the turn-off onto 395. Yes, he was nodding off. He had stopped twice to shake it out and he was thinking he would just stop as soon as the descent was over.
