Whoa, that was weird. There were still tons of sizes/colors available and SAC pulled the Icebreaker item down. (Anyone need crampons?)

    No fair.

Just got the Smartwool boxer briefs I ordered.

    Very lightweight, nice for summer.

However, be warned, Smartwool's "Large" is a good bit smaller than Ibex's "Large." And like all of the Smartwool clothes I've encountered, not quite as nicely made as Ibex and I'm not expecting them to be as durable as Ibex. But not bad at half the price of Ibex.

My Switchback pullover is a lovely dark charcoal gray. The accent stripe on the neck and embroidered Ibex logo on the center of the shoulders are a limey-yellow green.

    I luuuuuuv it.

Oh no. The wool weenies thread slipped to 9th in the apparel forum. Now it will be #1 again.

I made a stop at the PI factory outlet store in North Conway, NH on Saturday and walked out with a gorgeous PI wool jersey for $45. It even has a small zippered chest pocket.

    thank goodness for wool!
    Nice shirt Deb!

just came back from a weekend in Mazama washington, where weather RULES.
the ride was over mountain passes and the weather was coming in so bad that they cancelled part of it.

Needless to say; when we DID ride, wool was worn!

    nau...

Well, I have read through a whole lot of this thread and didn't see this company mentioned. Although this is not bike specific, I think it would work great as a jersey with the short sleeves, front 1/4 zipper, and a side pocket.
    And wool of course..

Okay...I've been watching this thread for a long time. I LOVE wool. Grew up in Colorado wearing it fall, winter, and spring. I still wear it here in NorCal. And while I believe one can never have too much wool clothing, storage gets to be problematic. I just hauled all my wool sweaters to the dry cleaners so they'll be nice and clean for summer storage. But in doing so, I got to thinking that some of the sweaters are ready to be replaced. They're still in good shape, I'm just tired of the styles and/or colors.

So I took both the Ibex and the SAC plunge and ordered one in plum. Probably should have ordered black, too. I have a feeling this may be the beginning of something that's going to become a fun, but possibly expensive, habit.
