Jerseys for tall women with child bearing hips and small waist?

I'm having a little trouble finding good jerseys that fit well and don't ride up. I'm 5'9" with 38" hips and 29" waist. Anything with elastic seems to ride up my hips and bunch up at my waist. Yet, it's hard to find anything without elastic, or with minimal elastic. I just ordered and received a Hindcapie from TE and I think it "might" work. It has the gripie stuff to help kee it in place, but it doesn't seem to stay in place as much as I'd like. I have to try it out on the bike.

I have to send another jersey back because it's too small. So, now I'm off to search for more jerseys, which HAVE to be pink or mostly pink. The Hindcapie I got is black and pink, which is perfect because my bike is black with pink "stuff" on it.

Any tips? Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm short and have the same problem. Some of my jerseys have a little more elastic and so grip a little and don't ride up as much, but they generally do.
I think it comes with the territory.

I have the same hip and waist measurements! But, I'm 3 inches shorter... I have the same problem too with my Pearl Izumi jersey, but my Performance Bike brand jersey doesn't have any elastic around the bottom. It fits perfectly!

I actually bought three Performance Bike jerseys that seemed to work. However ... crazy me couldn't stand that not even one of them was pink and decided to take them all back! They had no pink jerseys. When I saw the big selection on TE, I decided to give two of those a try. I still don't know if the Castinelli I got will work in a bigger size. It doesn't have much elastic. Plus I'm worried how the over all fit will be, so I'm hesitant to have another one shipped that I just have to return.

Has anyone tried She-beest? I'm wondering how they fit.

Terry has lots of jerseys with no elastic. I hate elastic and find that more and more woman's jerseys do not have it because most women have smaller waists and bigger hips!

I'm 5'7" (tall torso) with 27" waist, and 37-38" hips. I also have broad shoulders. Some men's race cut jerseys work the best for me.

    Same problem

    Jiffer,

I am also 5'9" and have the same problem with jerseys - I have tried men's small jerseys and they are "OK" - but I finally found one that fit -the Terry jersey's - they are long enough - especially the touring jersey - a medium is a generouos cut - I think it will work for you. Well worth the money!!

As much as I love shebeast - they are just way too short in the torso for me - I have a few sleeveless larges that I tolerate - but am not as comfortable in as my Terry's. I have also found Voler to cut a nice jersey.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll check out those brands you guys suggested. I think I need to stay away from She-beest because of my height. I also have a 34D chest, so sometimes a jersey fits great everywhere but there. That's what I'm worried about with the Castinelli. I got a Large and it's too tight in the arms an chest. So, I might send it back and try an XL. I'd feel ridiculous wearing an XL, but I guess whatever fits!

Keep the suggestions coming! Hey, has anyone ever taken elastic out of a jersey? DH suggested it.

Has anyone tried the Genesis sleeveless jersey? They only have medium left and, according to their chart, I'm a medium in the chest and waist, but an inch to big for a medium in the hips. Can anyone tell me if it might work anyways? It's tempting, because it's so cute and it's on sale! And it's PINK!!!

    Castelli...hee Hee

LBS was having a big sale... tried on a Castelli large. I have very similar measurements, 34D, smaller waist, bigger thighs... Large in most other brands works okay.
All I can say is Bike jersey porn! It was hilarious. I couldn't even get the zipper past the twins. My husband was with me and he couldn't stop laughing. The shirt was really cute, pink/navy, but definitely cut for someone with no chest!!!

I like the PI symphony jersey and the Nike Team. Nike has it in pink.

Hmmm... well, Castelli fits me very well -- on me it seems "better cut" than many other brands, but I'm a 34A, so maybe that's part of it. Surprisingly though, it seems to accomodate my big hips pretty well also.
