    From the author's website:

If you were ever a biker and liked it even a teeny bit, go out right now and buy yourself a decent road bike. With modern gearing and brakes. It will get you out the door and up the hill and there is nothing better for you. Ever. And you can do it until the day you die. Almost. So go buy a good bike.

Do not get the old wreck out of the attic as a first step. It was a great bike once but bikes have gotten radically better, easier to ride and more fun. You're what..fifty? Well, my God, you deserve decent gear. So go get yourself a good one and go for a ride. You'll be stunned at how much more fun it has become. If you're in hideous shape, start with a hybrid..they're cheap and they don't cost much. But trade up as soon as you can because a real road bike is such a treat. Ride every other day for the rest of your life.

Thanks for the book suggestion! My husband is an avid reader & I know would enjoy this book.

Will just the "Younger Next Year" book do for both of us?

    Thanks!

    Have a nice day everyone.

    Denise,
it could be my imagination, but I preferred how he spoke to women. I heard (in the car with DH) what he had to say to men, and it seemed more crude and flippant compared to the book i read for women.

The message is definitely the same, though; but women have some different issues, like osteoporosis.
