Hey-
Sorry, but I won't be able to make it tomorrow :-( The dissertation writing is actually going pretty well, but my best friend unexpectedly came to town this weekend, so I took a couple hours off this afternoon to have lunch with her, and I really need a good night sleep before pounding the rest of this thing out tomorrow and Monday.
Have a great time, and after June 14th I will be up for lots of riding!![]()
Ellen
Trek and Snap! Excellent - this will be a fun ride!
Ellen - I'm sorry you can't join us, but I'm glad you had a good visit with your friend.
Kim - well, various factions are trying to talk me into doing the Bears on Monday, so we may end up out there after all - but I know my pace is still going to be on the slow side (let's remember - Seven or no Seven, its still ME on the bike!).
I really enjoyed my little circuits around the LBS today, so I think tomorrow will be great - I'll take pictures!
Keep calm and carry on...
Hey there -
It looks like it might just be Trek, Melissa and me today - could be push our meeting time back to 10 instead of 9:30?
(I dreamt about riding my bike last night!)
- Ann
Keep calm and carry on...
Today's ride was great!![]()
Thanks, Trek for coming out on the Seven's maiden ride! I even made it right to the top of the Nemesis hill without stopping! (Although I would have *liked* to stop, except I couldn't get out of the loaner pedals I was using, so I just had to keep going! [Note to self - new training technique?])
Tomorrow (Monday) the Plan A is to ride the Bears unless it is way too windy. Plan B is up in the air -maybe Tunnel Rd and Skyline instead.
I am really loving this bike - it will take me a little while to get used to being in a different riding position, but it is so smooth and nice to ride!
I'll post some pictures tomorrow!
Ann (happy Seven rider!)
Keep calm and carry on...
Thanks gals, I had a really great time.
Near the end of the ride we passed a kid dejectedly walking his bike. Bikerz and Mellisam asked how long he'd been walking. About 45 minutes. Since he didn't have a spare tube and we all had roadie pumps (reminder, another thing I need to get is one of those shrader/presta adapter thingies because you never know who you'll need to help or help you out)
Mel held an expert yet comical demonstration of how to patch a tube.![]()
Nice job gals. And while the 3 bikergals are helping this kid out, how many guys with MTB and everything one needs to fix a flat passed by??
Then back to the ride start and it being TE....everyone tried everyones bikes. Bikerz that is one sweet bike. I took my first spin on a Bianchi (still have never tried carbon) and Mel tried my Mendocino Marinara oh what's it called? Mondonico.
I was about to put my bike on the rack when up ride a whole bunch of ALC'ers who I know from previous rides. "We're having a BBQ after our ride, c'mon it's only 10 more miles and I can bring you back here" which is a good thing because I would have never found the route back.
So off we went.

The Bears are on! It's nice and sunny over there, and no wind, so I'm told. We'll be doing a 20 mile loop, 1500 ft of climbing.
We're leaving from Castro Ranch Rd at 10:00 - anyone who wants to join us. PM me by 9:30 and I'll give you directions!
Watch this space for a full report, and bike photos!
Keep calm and carry on...
