"I rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a bike. It gives her a feeling of self-reliance and independence the moment she takes her seat; and away she goes, the picture of untrammelled womanhood."
Susan B. Anthony, 1896
At two locations you can get it for $2.99 most others it's $3.04 or more.

Earlier this week, $3.10 in the Philly burbs.
I saw an article about how people are now shopping less, but not driving less, despite the high prices. Well, DUH. Gas topping $3/gal doesn't make bus routes and bike lanes suddenly appear! Even if people are willing to change jobs or move to reduce commutes (and use less gas), that takes time. Entropy is powerful; things may need to get really bad before people consider changing jobs or moving.
We're moving our two-year-old to daycare in our township and out of his beloved daycare that is no longer on my way to work ("new" job, we've been driving 7 miles out of the way twice a day for nearly two years and that's gotten old). There just are NOT a lot of daycare providers in the area. As it is, any money we save on gas goes to a higher tuition (we had additional reasons for moving him). We'd hoped to take him by bike in good weather, but there is a nasty stretch of two-lane road with no shoulder where some IDIOT tried to squeeze past me without driving into oncoming traffic.
I don't drive enough to know any more. I think I passed a station the other day that said $3.29.
This summer is going to be brutal for us, though. I'm going to be driving with my daughter, her BF, and her cat from Minneapolis to Seattle. I'll learn everything about gas prices that I've forgotten over the years. Bleh.
Remebering 29 cent gas. Gawd, I'm old.

I looked yesterday when I dropped the car off for it's pre-sell-it-to-my-brother maintenance, and noticed gas was $3.45 . Student worker paid $3.27 this weekend, tho', but in the next town over. Chicago was the most expensive according to NPR.
$3.39 It's nice to only have to fill up every three weeks![]()
