My ribs/chest still hurt too much to sensibly do any running over the weekend so I ordered a pair of trail shoes to console myself instead! I can feel every tiny pebble when running in my road shoes so they'll probably be pretty useless for the rocky trails I intend to run on.

Once they arrive I'll put them at the front door so they look at me reproachfully every time I go out, that should motivate me to get them on and get on the trails. On the plus side my chest muscles are improving, it still hurts a bit but I can think about stretching them now which I couldn't before, I've also got reacquainted with my road bike.
