..on my new bike, that is! It's been a year since I've been on a road bike, so I wasn't sure how it was going to go. But she is a sweeeeeet ride I only went out for about an hour and a half, just to play around and get the feel of it. Did pretty well and felt quite comfortable. I tried to see how long I could pedal for what I guestimated to be 90 rpm (trying to make it feel like when I'm on the stationary- I usually go about 85-90, or faster if I have a really fast techno song to crank to ) But lots of other factors come into play out on the trails- birds, wooden bridges, stoplights and traffic, other people, kids riding their bike in the wrong lane- seriously, I thought I was gonna hit a kid today- he was flying down towards me and I yelled for him to get in the correct lane, which he did at the last minute. But I did all right. Coming back kind of sucked because it was windy and the headwind just happened to be all on the way back. But I managed, and managed up the hills without having to stand up or die of exhaustion at the top. And I must say, I felt pretty bad-a$$ on the bike Going fast is fun! Now to practice those pesky corners...
