"Strong robot."
My husband complains that he doesn't like doing double centuries, and he'd rather ride short (100 or less) and fast. Problem is, then he goes to do a double and he rides long and fast. All freaking day. I just don't get it. I am really impressed at how well he does - and it pushes me to stay with him. And I just can't sit on the wheel all day either, I have to take my pulls even if I don't feel great. But he gets on the front, and we're going the same speed at mile 180 that we were at mile 50.
We actually had a negative split on the ride - the climb of Cobb was in the first half. (We got the bonus double Resurrection climbs because of the course change. Lucky us.) And even though he left me on the long climbs to go ahead, my ride time was only 1/2 hour more than his.
Wicked bad hot foot on Resurrection. Last 2 doubles I have been plagued by this. I got to the rest stop and gave Mike my shoe to have the cleat moved back, which helped a bit.
