I think you could do it, since you jog. I'd say know the route and where the stops are, so you can pace yourself with the rest stops. Don't skip one unless you are sure you can make it to the next one. If you don't finish, you don't finish. No shame in trying. You're probably going to go farther than 12 miles, anyway, and that will be an accomplishment.
If you have someone to ride with you, it will be easier. I think if you are going to get sore or whatever, you will feel it in your seat and in your arms or hands because they're not used to the distance, but maybe not. It may just be general fatigue.
Previous to doing the Big Dam Bridge fun ride (25 miles), I had only done 15 on one stretch. Hubby had only done about 7 miles, but he hung in there and did the whole 25. It wasn't bad.
