Did he say "A cycle tour without a map is like new potatoes without the smell of mint."????
    D'oh!
I knew I was missing something!!!

    Okay...finished watching the films.
I like how they cure "a touch of the bonk" with a glass of beer!
    Yay, carbo loading!
Why, we did that just last night after blasting around the woods after work!
Happily, in spite of all the advances in technology that apply even to cycling, some things never change!

A particular English pronunciation of the word "girls".
Prob'ly shows my age (and the power of British Cultural Imperialism!)

I think I'll go and look at them again. Lisa, you are awakening all my dormant fantasies. Ah, well; if the worst comes to the worst I shall just fly up and visit Bruno for a palaver and we will get up to all sorts of shenanigans!

    Ahhh, that was good!

I yearned for those gorgeous huge seat-bags.

(and I got a kick out of some youngster's comment on YouTube about "the years before the atomic bomb".... um, no, this would be a decade AFTER the atomic bomb, kiddo...)

Now I wanna go for a ride! On my lugged steel bike with my sprung Brooks saddle and my waxed canvas-n-leather handlebar bag!

I have the Baggins Little Joe for everyday riding, I can fit all kinds of gear in there.

And I have the larger olive green Carradice Nelson for multiday tours:

I like the "Bagman" bag support, which attaches right to my saddle rails and holds the bags tilted up nicely and away from the tire and seatpost.

Yeah Baby!!! That's what it's all about for me as well.
