Just got back from doing 33. Climbed 2600 feet and had some nasty winds. We're in the middle of a couple of storm systems out here so the winds are kind of weird. There's always some wind, we even get written about in sailing mags, 'cause our wind is so strong and predictable, but today's was not the usual direction.

Managed 55 miles yesterday. Was only intending to do about 30, but it was such a nice day, that I carried on flying! Unfortunately didn't take any food with me, bar a little conference pear, so in serious danger of bonking at the end! Anyhow, spring has finally sprung!
Actually overtook 2 sets of club riders, which is an absolute first! Used to having 3 year old toddlers on tricycles speeding past me!
Also managed all 55 on my lonesome, and didn't get lost once - another first (terrible sense of direction!).
Feeling very motivated for this year's season.
    Whoo-hoo!

    Breaking trail!

While you lovely ladies were out riding I was breaking trail in 1.5+ feet of fresh, heavy snow. It was a regular winter wonderland here in the mountains of California!

But I worked off sooooooooooo many calories!

and I was sitting at home donating my lungs to the American Lung Assoc a cough at a time! But I'm getting better and living my rides thru ya'll for now!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Hey, me too! I was in Tahoe - X-country skiing on Sunday - then breaking trail with my snow-shoes on Monday. Beautiful!
