ruby pro or orbea diva?

Ok this is the question...
which one?
I have tested them both and loved both!(the ruby rides like my giant, just fits me better- the diva rides completely different and I love it).

Here is what makes this even harder,
a)I really want the diva(just b/c you see less of them out there) but Orbea is putting all framesets on hold right now to make team bikes(the men's team decided they liked the stock bike over the team bike)- So the Ruby is available now

and then
b) with the ruby I can get the full bike(it is a blemished bike, so there is a huge discount on it- so dura-ace shifters, ultegra brakes) vs. getting the diva frame and putting my full ultegra on it, and then slowly saving the money to build it up to durace?


do I wait or do I get the specialized??

Hmm... Decisions, decisions. They are both great bikes. The Orbea is definitely a head turner. I saw one sitting on a roof rack on a ride two Saturdays ago, and I just about drooled. However, I think you should go with the one that is a better fit. It should feel like an extension of yourself when you ride. Which one does that for you?

IMO, the opportunity to get a bike you love that is also seriously discounted bike is something you shouldn't pass up. Unless, of course, you are independently wealthy and money is no object. The sooner you get it, the sooner you'll be out riding and enjoying it.

Then again, I too suffer from Diva Lust. It almost makes me wish I hadn't already bought the Dama Race last year, although the time and price was right and I don't regret it. Is there no way you can find a Diva locally or regionally that meets your specifications? I wouldn't want to wait around weeks/months for any bike builder unless it was for a completely full-custom order. I guess I'm lucky - my LBS has a very nicely built-up DuraAce Diva sitting on their showroom floor with my name on it. I just don't have the $$$.

alright I am responding to both posts at once:-)

Both bikes feel amazing to me! they are both just different rides, so it is hard to pick which one, if they had the same feel but one was better, it would be easier!

My thing is, my SO is assistant manager at the LBS, so I have access to the blemished bikes from specialized(hence ruby pro at almost a 50% discount) so I also get a discount on the diva frame, or full bike if i wanted,

I am thinking of waiting for the diva, I can deal with being in pain on my ill fitting frame a little bit longer-hehe. Or maybe I just won't buy a car and I will use the 1500 from mine to put towards a full diva.

I went to test the Diva, with full intentions of purchasing it. Trouble was, the 49cm standover height was a little cramped and the TT was a touch long. Too bad they don't go one size smaller – it's an awesome looking specimen!

I ended up with a 44cm Ruby S-Works frameset. The built-up model I tested was full DA and the ride was wonderful. And it still fits 700c wheels. (I didn't go for the complete bike because I'd prefer Campy Chorus.) The overall ticket price is in the same ball park as the Diva, and I was able to get a club discount, too.

Either way you go, I think you'll end up with a very nice bike!

You write that you "really want" the Diva. Be patient and wait for it. You won't be sorry. And since you'll be upgrading components, why not go for campy (oh no, my bias towards campy is showing, LOL)?

BTW, I'd love to have one, too, but my stable is full.

If I could afford a Diva I'd get one! They are gorgeous and I am sure they ride well

Yeah upgrading to campy at the moment is out of my budget, but one day I will get there.

I am thinking about getting full diva bike with sram.... anythoughts on sram rival?

And sram is getting good reviews, haven't read a bad word about it. The only 'complaint' is the shifters but that's more because people had to learn to use them (they shift a bit differently from campy and shimi).

I have a Specialized Allez and I do like the Specialized bikes but if I could upgrade to my dream bike I would go for the Diva-its just a gorgeous bike. Makes me have intense bike lust! I have heard good things about sram too.

Ok, I will give you some advice for what it is worth...I started out riding a Raleigh Comfort bike about 6 years ago, then bought a Specialized Sequoia road bike, then the Specialized Globe Hybrid... and guess what else, just last week purchased my dream bike, the pink and black ORBEA DIVA!!! Wow what a bike!!! I drove down to South Louisiana to Covington Louisiana and rode the Tammany Trace Trail... 28 miles down and 28 back...She rode like a dream!!! 56 miles in one day..For me, that is a record...Don't get to ride as much as I like, but I will never need another bike..I love her dearly!!!!
