    Downs Syndrome Ride--The D-tour Ride

    To disable ads, please log-in.

A family of ten from my town is embarking on a 1300 mile ride to raise funds/awareness for Down Syndrome. One of the children on the ride is their son with Down Syndrome. They are leaving on the 12th and their destination is Jacksonville, FL. They have invited folks to ride with them on the way. It appears in the article that they are still arranging lodging, so if you are on their route and can help them out, please contact them.

The official website for the ride is:

Thank you very much for posting this, Tuckervill. My younger sister (36 yrs old) has Down's, so I think what the Thomspon family is doing is fantastic!
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."
David Desautels, in a letter to velonews.com

Random babblings and some stuff to look at.
