If registration is still available I may be there. I just need some new T-shirt so I'll probably only do the 25 miler Besides, I have a hair appt that day. Need to color my Cruella DeVille streak of grey

Years ago, I ended up DNFing. Guy I was riding with inexlicably got sucked into a back of a pick up truck. We had just increased our speed to 23MPH when he plowed into the back of pkup truck/lowery(sp). Can't win against a pkup. I had to call his wife, went with him to the ER... He was so out of it I stayed with him til his wife showed up. That was the last time I went to El Canejo.

I thought there was a climb near the end to get out of Camarillo back up to thousand oaks???

I've done the ride a number of times - starting with the 30 and working up to the century. It's just an awesome event and fun ride. Routes are challenging but very doable (especially for you) and the sags couldn't be better - the boy scouts are sweeties.

Westher wise it's always a surprise. Done the ride 6 times. 4 times it was overcast, cool and at times, drizzly and 2 times bezesus hot. You just never know. Thankfully I did the challenging metric and century in cool years.

Scenary is awesome - it's a little bit of every thing from Hidden Valley, to the plains of Camarillo, up to the Rock Store. This is probably one of my favorite rides each year.

And I read Fredwina's post - just different perspectives... she says fairly flat, I say long rolly at times tough hills going back (the climbs start at Moorpark) especially if the wind has kicked up. But Audrey you are so strong, no doubt you will be in the it's fairly flat camp!

So who is doing this ride?? and how can I find you??

Maybe I'll call my hairdresser and cacel my appt. What sacrifice!!!

I'm so far out of shape, I think I can only manage the 34 miler I don't think the moderate metric would be prudent for me.

... Being prudent is not my forte so maybe I'll be struggling on the century . Builds character...

If I do decide to show up, I'll be wearing my purple primal jersey. Dragonfly on the bike. my bike is Obera Dama race. Blue in color. Me, overweight 5' 4" Japanese. I should be there around 7:30AM ish... hmm that's another thing. Have to wake up early grrr....
